Gardening 101

As we become more mindful of our pollinators, also remember that they are responsible for more than 150 farming crops yield each year. This simple, yet very important, key fact states how critical wild bees are to our very own life cycle. Creating pollinator habitats that include native shrubs; grasses; wild flowers that bloom all season long; and fruit trees can be a necessary factor in greatly increasing a pollinator's reproduction rate and lifespan.

Never ever use harmful chemical's in, or around, a pollinator habitat or garden. "BUT", if you must spray pesticides, take precaution in using HARMFUL solutions that can affect pollination behavior. Pollinators are essential elements to our food source.

Pollinator Habitat 101

Keeping it simple, but effective. Native flowering plants, clean water source, but not to clean, places to nest, rest and housing that holds large numbers. Pollinator gardens can hold many sustainable benefits such as help stabilize soil; serve as erosion protection; and provide shelter for other wildlife- including birds, frogs and turtles. Remember, a diversity of wild flowers, and native grasses that produce blooms throughout the growing season are key choices in a productive pollinator habitat.
